Dr Vimal Dhokia, will be the second academic involved at the University of Bath.
He specialises in the interface between innovation, design and manufacture, personalised design and advanced manufacturing technology.
Vimal is interested in the next generation of design for manufacture and the emerging concept of industry 4.0. He has experience of contributing to EU-projects and was the lead Bath researcher on a EU-FP7 project entitled DEMAT –Dematerialised Manufacturing Systems (project no’ 246020): developing next generation dematerialised, reconfigurable machine tools. He has also recently been funded to develop new design tools and methods for hybrid manufacturing through Innovate UK – FALCON: Finishing of Additive Components On a Novel platform. His technical expertise in the interface between digital/virtual design methods and advanced manufacturing technologies will be an asset at UBAH.
